These were a staple item in the 2010s. It didn’t matter if you were shopping at HotTopic or Tillys, because you could always find a pair to go with either aesthetic.
2. High Waisted Jeans/Shorts
Pair anything high waisted with a cute crop top and you were set to go. Flattering and comfortable.
3. Knee High Converse
I remember being so excited getting these for Christmas back in middle school when I was going through my emo phase. I actually bought a pair recently since they brought them back.
4. Slouchy beanies
Beanies are great for the cold season, obviously, but there was something about the way beanies slouched back then that made the fits different.
5. Acid Wash Denim
I love me a good pair of acid wash jeans. At this time, especially, since you could get them high waisted, skinny, and distressed, all at the same time.
6. Moccasins
These were really cute. I never actually got to own a pair of these, but I remember all the girls in middle school had them.
7. Hair Bows
Bethany Mota. DIY bow tutorials. That’s all I need to say.
8. Choker Necklaces
I died a little inside when my favorite choker from Hollister with a crescent moon pendant broke apart.
9. Timberlands
There was a time when everyone was popping out with these in different colors. I’m talking pink, blue, burgundy, etc.
10. Body Con Dresses
FashionNova came into play, and there was always a body con dress out there tailored for every occasion.
11. Bomber Jackets
My first FashionNova purchase was actually a bomber jacket. I came back to school after Christmas break and every girl had one in every color.
12. Vans
Another staple item. Vans were great for every day wear and you could pair them with anything.
13. Thigh High Boots
Thigh high boots scream IG model era
14. Varsity Jackets
There was a time when everyone was showing up to school with a red letterman jacket. Fast forward a whole decade later, they’re back in neutral colors.
15. Flannels
Flannels just give cozy, warm vibes
16. Skater Skirts
Skater skirts gave off such a girly vibe at the time, especially if you paired them with hair bows and wedged heels.
17. Oxfords
I actually forgot about these shoes, because they were another item I never actually had, unfortunately.
18. Cardigans
Pair these with floral lacy tops, a skirt or a pair of skinny jeans, combat boots, & a slouchy beanie and you have a whole fit right there. Or put on a rosary and some skinny jeans and you’d be ready to hit up the next shuffling sesh.
19. Denim Vest
This was popular, specifically, during the shuffling and Swag era
20. Distressed Jeans/Shorts
There was just something about having rips in your denim that made so much sense
